New: Draft 2030 Regional Transportation Plan Update Released for Public Comment
The CMAP Transportation Committee has released an additional update to the 2030 Regional Transportation Plan. The update primarily extends the southern terminus for additional lanes on I-55 from Arsenal Road to Coal City Road in southern Will County. A portion of this addition is expected to be studied soon. This update is being released along with an accompanying Transportation Improvement Program Amendment and Conformity Analysis for a 30-day public comment period beginning on April 25, 2008.

Updated 2030 Regional Transportation Plan for Northeastern Illinois
An Update to the 2030 Regional Transportation Plan for Northeastern Illinois (pdf, 5.8 MB) was approved by the Board of the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning and by the MPO Policy Committee on March 12 and 13, respectively. The updated document has been submitted to our state and the federal partners. The update was primarily the addition of a project to add lanes on I-355 from I-88 to 75th Street in DuPage County. The update also includes minor editorial changes.
The compiled plan above is the Chicago region's adopted vision for its transportation future. The plan includes goals, objectives, strategies, systems, and projects to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the regional surface transportation system. This plan has been adopted by the Board of the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning and the Policy Committee of the Metropolitan Planning Organization. Air Quality Conformity
An Air Quality Analysis of the Updated 2030 Regional Transportation Plan has also been released. The Updated 2030 Regional Transportation Plan and FY 2007-2012 Transportation Improvement Program conform to the State Implementation Plans for attainment of National Ambient Air Quality Standards.
Prior Adopted 2030 Regional Transportation Plans
The 2030 Regional Transportation Plan was last updated in June, 2007. That update and applicable parts of previously adopted updates have been used to produce the Compiled 2030 Regional Transportation Plan, reflecting the approved long-range transportation plan for metropolitan Chicago.

Component Updates
The compiled plan consists of prior updated plans, as applicable.
2030 Regional Transportation Plan for Northeastern Illinois. The 2030 Regional Transportation Plan was first adopted by Policy Committee Resolution 03-09 in October, 2003. The compiled plan includes the regional analysis from this document.
2006 Capital Element Update. The capital element of the 2030 Regional Transportation Plan was updated by Policy Committee Resolution 06-14 in October, 2006 and approved by the Board of the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning.
2007 Update. A 2007 update of the strategic element of the 2030 Regional Transportation Plan was adopted by Policy Committee Resolution 07-07 and approved by the Board of the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning.
