Kyle Schulz is the Deputy of Strategic Advancement for the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) — the comprehensive planning organization for northeastern Illinois’ 7 counties and 284 communities. He builds and manages relationships with external entities and partners, developing partnerships and beneficial collaborations that achieve CMAP and the region’s comprehensive planning goals.  

Prior to joining CMAP, Kyle served as Chief Growth Officer for World Business Chicago — the City of Chicago and broader region’s economic development agency — where he contributed to 775+ pro-Chicago decisions that created over 62,500 jobs for the region, including signature wins like PsiQuantum’s $5 billion investment (the largest economic development project in Chicago’s history), Discover Financial’s 1,000 person call center, Mars Wrigley’s global R&D center, and Google’s acquisition of the Thompson Center.

Kyle’s 15 years of experience include driving impact with the Schaumburg Business Association in Illinois, both the Greater Austin and Round Rock Chambers of Commerce in Texas, as well as the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity where his work was recognized with numerous recognition and honors.

Kyle lives in Chicago’s North Park neighborhood with his wife, JJ, his daughter, Rhynder, his son, Behrendt, and his heterochromia husky, Bran.
