October 12, 2023 Regional leaders approve Plan of Action for Regional Transit Yesterday, regional leaders achieved consensus around the Plan of Action for Regional Transit (PART) — which outlines options for finance, governance, and other proposed reforms — to address the fiscal cliff facing our transit system and strengthen service across northeastern Illinois. With the CMAP Board and MPO Policy Committee’s approval, PART now will go to the Illinois General Assembly and governor for consideration. This marks the culmination of 10 months of rigorous work, in response to a state law directing CMAP to develop bold policy solutions in collaboration with regional partners. Thank you to all those who contributed their time, expertise, and voice to this process — and for being a PART of the solution.
