April 22, 2024 Summer 2024 Future Leaders in Planning program accepting applications Have you ever wondered how our transportation system impacts communities? Are you interested in access to parks and nature? How about housing types and affordability? Do you want to learn about how these decisions are made and what we can do to improve our communities’ quality-of-life? If so, apply to be a part of the Future Leaders in Planning (FLIP) summer program! The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) is looking for high school students from Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, and Will counties who want to learn about urban planning and our region and share ideas about how to make northeastern Illinois a better place to live, go to school, work, and play. When: Monday, July 15 through Friday, July 19, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Where: Students will meet at CMAP’s office at the Old Post Office in downtown Chicago (433 W. Van Buren St.). The program is fully in person. The program is completely free to students, and includes snacks, meals, public transportation to and from sessions, and swag. The application deadline is 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22. Apply to be part of the 2024 FLIP cohort!
