February 4, 2026 Consultants learn what’s next for CMAP projects From neighborhood corridor plans to regionally significant policy initiatives, CMAP manages a diverse portfolio of projects that help communities move from vision to implementation. While advancing the priorities of ON TO 2050, the agency is also shaping the next generation of regional planning work that will guide northeastern Illinois into the future. To showcase the exciting work planned for fiscal year 2027 and beyond, CMAP hosted an open house for consultants on Wednesday, February 4. More than 160 consultants attended the event, engaging with CMAP staff to explore key areas where the agency anticipates needing consultant support. The work areas presented are listed below, along with information shared at the event: Accessible Communities and Placemaking Building Capacity technical assistance Bicycle and Pedestrian Planning Coordinated Land Use Strategies Economic Competitiveness Pavement Management Plan Development Regional Policy and Implementation Safe and Complete Streets CMAP thanks everyone who attended the open house.
