July 29, 2024 New, interactive StoryMap to understand transit conditions and data The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) released a new StoryMap to help elected officials, transportation partners, and the public better understand recommendations from the Plan of Action for Regional Transit (PART). PART covers three main topic areas: The transit system the region wants Funding the transit system the region wants Implementing the transit system the region wants This new resource provides details on some of the recommendations in the first topic area: the transit system the region wants. The StoryMap includes ideas on how to improve the speed and reliability of the bus system, better integrate transit service providers, and improve the accessibility of transit stations. It features interactive maps, data visualizations, and detailed explanations to illustrate the transit challenges and solutions proposed for the region. The StoryMap also guides users through various aspects of PART, including current transit conditions, planned improvements, and the expected impact on communities.
