Creating a more efficient and safe regional transportation system The Transportation Technology and Operations Coalition is a forum for transportation professionals throughout northeastern Illinois to discuss a variety of topics, including: Coordinated management and operation of transportation infrastructure, resources, and services Intelligent transportation system (ITS) infrastructure and funding opportunities Electric vehicle infrastructure and adoption Data collection and analysis Performance measure tracking The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) created the coalition to help achieve a more efficient and safe regional transportation system, as identified in ON TO 2050, the comprehensive plan for northeastern Illinois. Regional ITS resources The Northeastern Illinois Regional ITS Architecture website is a roadmap for intelligent transportation systems integration in northeastern Illinois (Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, and Will and a portion of Grundy) over the next 15 years.
